It efficiently utilizes the thermal energy from a factory's existing steam boiler (or can be paired with a small steam generator), converting steam heat into stable drying hot air through an efficient heat exchange system. The equipment employs a scientific hot air circulation and dehumidification design to ensure even and efficient veneer drying. Its core features are low initial investment cost, economical operational energy consumption, and easy maintenance. It is particularly suitable for drying veneers from fast-growing wood species like poplar and eucalyptus, making it an ideal choice to help customers achieve capacity upgrades and quality control with minimal investment.
Working Principle
The equipment operates on the principle of efficient, forced convection hot air drying. The workflow is as follows:
1.  Heat Generation & Circulation: Saturated steam from the boiler enters the finned-tube heat exchangers inside the drying chamber. Fresh air is drawn through these exchangers, becoming clean, dry hot air. High-power circulation fans then forcefully drive this hot air throughout the chamber.
2.  Drying Process: The forced hot air uniformly penetrates the stacks of veneers. Heat and moisture exchange occurs, causing water to evaporate from the veneer surfaces.
3.  Humidity Control & Recycling: The resulting moist, hot air is partially exhausted through automatically controlled dehumidification vents to maintain the optimal humidity ratio. The remaining air mixes with a portion of fresh make-up air, returns to the heat exchangers for reheating, and re-enters the circulation, forming a closed-loop system that maximizes thermal efficiency.

Q2: Compared to a thermal oil dryer, is the drying speed of the steam type slower?
A2: Within the standard drying temperature range (60-120°C), drying speed primarily depends on hot air temperature, humidity, and circulation efficiency. Steam dryers can fully achieve efficient drying rates within this range. Their advantage lies in lower operating costs, making them particularly suitable for fast-growing wood veneers that do not require drying temperatures exceeding 120°C.
Q3: How does the equipment control the final moisture content of the veneer?
A3: The basic model controls the drying process indirectly by regulating temperature via steam valves and manually/automatically controlling dehumidification. We highly recommend opting for the PLC automatic control model. It can automatically adjust temperature and dehumidification based on preset drying schedules, providing more precise control over moisture content and ensuring batch-to-batch consistency.
Q4: Are there any special requirements for the factory building to install this equipment?
A4: The main requirements are: 1) A solid and level floor foundation; 2) Sufficient space for equipment installation and operation (with access aisles around it); 3) Steam supply and condensate return pipelines routed to the vicinity of the equipment; 4) Good ventilation in the workshop.
