Product Overview

This equipment is a top-tier industrial-grade peeling lathe specifically designed for the large-scale, high-efficiency processing of softwoods like pine. It abandons the traditional spindle design, utilizing a fully servo-driven system and advanced CNC technology. The log is directly driven by high-torque friction rollers, enabling stable, high-speed peeling from large-diameter logs down to a very small core (as low as 30-40 mm).

Its core advantages lie in maximum material yield and exceptional thickness precision. It is highly adaptable to log defects like curvature and knots, making it particularly suitable for continuous production lines for pine veneer (especially plywood core stock), which requires high output from relatively soft wood.

Working Principle

This spindle-less peeling lathe operates on the principle of friction drive and precise servo feed. The log is fed to the machine center by a loading mechanism, where it is gripped and rotated by multiple sets of high-strength driving rollers (typically a combination of single and dual rollers). Simultaneously, the tool carriage, controlled by fully servo-driven motors, performs a continuous, smooth radial feed towards the rotating log based on the preset veneer thickness, driven by high-precision ball screws. A sharp peeling knife strips the wood into a continuous ribbon of veneer with uniform thickness, ready for subsequent clipping, drying, and splicing processes.

   Fully Servo-Driven System: Core motion axes, including the tool carriage feed and driving rollers, employ high-performance AC servo motors for nano-level control precision and rapid response, ensuring consistent veneer thickness.
   High-Strength Driving Roller Set: Includes single and dual rollers. The surface is specially treated (e.g., quenched, chrome-plated) for high hardness and wear resistance. Some models offer spiked rollers for better driving of materials like pine.
   CNC Tool Carriage Assembly: Equipped with an extra-long peeling knife (e.g., 2750mm), driven by servo motors via large-diameter ball screws (e.g., φ90mm or φ125mm) for stable feed.
   Intelligent Control System: Utilizes a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) paired with a color touch screen (HMI). All parameters (thickness, speed, pressure) can be digitally set and stored for intuitive operation.
