A plywood dryer is an indispensable core piece of equipment in the plywood production line. Its primary task is to rapidly dry the wet veneers (with high moisture content) produced by the rotary cutting or slicing process to the moisture level required by the process (typically 5%-10%), preparing them for subsequent steps like gluing, lay-up, and hot pressing. The quality of the drying process directly determines the final plywood product's flatness, bonding strength, and resistance to deformation.

Working Principle: Wet veneers are conveyed through the dryer by upper and lower pairs of rollers (or mesh belts). The machine uses fans to force hot air through nozzle boxes, jetting it vertically onto the top and bottom surfaces of the veneers at high speed (e.g., 1.5 m/s). This high-speed hot air breaks through the saturated steam layer on the veneer surface, allowing heat to rapidly transfer into the wood while carrying away the evaporated moisture, achieving efficient drying .
