What is MDF board?

The MDF (Medium density fiberboard) production process consists of the following steps:
1. Raw material preparation
- Wood selection: Usually softwood or hardwood is used, but wood processing leftovers can also be used.
- Chipping: The wood is chipped into small pieces for easy follow-up treatment.
2. Fiber separation
- Cooking: Wood chips are cooked and softened under high temperature and pressure.
- Fibrosis: The softened wood chips are separated into fibers by mechanical grinding.
3. Drying
- Drying treatment: The fiber is dried to an appropriate moisture content, usually 8-12%.
4. Molding
- Paving: The fiber of the mixed resin is evenly paved into a slab.
- Prepressing: The slab is prepressed, the air is discharged and the preliminary molding is performed.
6. Hot press
- High temperature and high pressure : hot pressing the slab under high temperature and high pressure, so that the resin is cured and the fiber is tightly combined.
7. Cool down
- Cooling treatment : The sheet is cooled to room temperature after hot pressing to stabilize its structure.
8. Sanding
- Surface treatment: Sanding the sheet to ensure a smooth surface.
9. Cut
- Size cutting: Cutting the sheet to standard size or custom size according to demand.
10. *Quality inspection and packaging
- Quality inspection ** : Check density, thickness, strength and other indicators.
- Packaging ** : Qualified products will be stored or shipped after packaging.
